Tunnel of Bones (Cassidy Blake #2) by Victoria Schwab
Publication Date: September 3rd, 2019
Rating: 5/5

Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake . . . even more than usual.
She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob, of course) are in Paris, where Cass’s parents are filming their TV show about the world’s most haunted cities. Sure, it’s fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there’s true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.
When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghosthunter — and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.
And if Cass fails, the force she’s unleashed could haunt the city forever.
Last year I listened to City of Ghosts through Spotify and just really loved the audiobook! (You can check out my review HERE) So anyway, I used scribd to listen to the audio for Tunnel of Bones and I have literally never finished an audiobook faster! It was just so addicting and so fun and dark and intense!
I loved that the narrator was the same as last time because she really does an amazing job bringing each character a unique voice and making the story really engaging!
Cassidy and Jacob had some really great moments together, especially near the end. It wasn’t nearly as intense as in the first book, but this dealt with some different aspects of their relationship and it was really great to see that story arc.
I especially loved that Cassidy still maintained her friendship with Lara from book 1 (and she still kept her frenemy status with Jacob haha). It was really great to see her as a recurring character and it helped moved the story along by answering questions that Cassidy otherwise wouldn’t have known the answer to!
It was also really interesting to see the story get darker and creepier… especially with some of the setting being in the catacombs *shudders*. This was really fast paced (it’s almost a 5 hour audiobook, which is really short!) and honestly perfect for the way the way the story progressed. It was eerie and haunting and beautiful!
I’m definitely excited to see Cassidy’s next adventures, especially with Jacob and the new information we were given!
If you like friendly and not so friendly ghosts, spooky stories, spirits that cause havoc just for fun, more Harry Potter references, and exploring the haunted areas of France… this book is definitely for you! It was a perfect sequel to an amazing first book so be sure to check this out!
