HELLO, EVERYONE! IT’S ME AGAIN TALKING ABOUT WE HUNT THE FLAME BECAUSE GUESS WHAT?! I’M CO-HOSTING A READATHON WITH MY FRIEND LORI @ THE READING BOOK FAIRY!
Haven’t read the book yet? This is the perfect time! Have read it already (once or many times?)? YOU CAN STILL JOIN! We’ll be doing some fun stuff on twitter and discord so be sure to check us out! Even if you can’t join the readalong this month, we’re definitely planning another for before the release of We Free the Stars! In the meantime, you’re still free to join the zumra discord!
If you join the discord, we’ll be able to discuss throughout the readalong and it’s easier to hide spoilers! Plus, we have a lot of fun with choosing our caliphates and our affinities (which you’ll read about in the book!) and you’ll make lots of awesome friends! It really is a zumra!
I’m honestly so so excited for the readalong! It’s definitely not my first time reading the book BUT I’ve been wanting to start annotating my books and I wanted my first annotated book to be this book (because as you know it’s super special to me!). I got transparent sticky notes and really pretty stationary that’ll be perfect with the book I hope! PLUS IT’S MY BIRTHDAY MONTH YAYYYYYY! Anyway, I hope you’ll join us and hopefully it’ll be a blast!
If you join in on twitter make sure to use the hashtag #WHTFReadathon so we can all share and discuss!
People lived because she killed.
People died because he lived.
Zafira is the Hunter, disguising herself as a man when she braves the cursed forest of the Arz to feed her people. Nasir is the Prince of Death, assassinating those foolish enough to defy his autocratic father, the king. If Zafira was exposed as a girl, all of her achievements would be rejected; if Nasir displayed his compassion, his father would punish him in the most brutal of ways.
Both are legends in the kingdom of Arawiya—but neither wants to be.
War is brewing, and the Arz sweeps closer with each passing day, engulfing the land in shadow. When Zafira embarks on a quest to uncover a lost artifact that can restore magic to her suffering world and stop the Arz, Nasir is sent by the king on a similar mission: retrieve the artifact and kill the Hunter. But an ancient evil stirs as their journey unfolds—and the prize they seek may pose a threat greater than either can imagine.
Set in a richly detailed world inspired by ancient Arabia, We Hunt the Flame is a gripping debut of discovery, conquering fear, and taking identity into your own hands.
