I don’t remember if I was actually tagged to be honest but I do remember seeing this tag done by TEA AND TURNED PAGES and thought it looks fun! This tag was originally created by KAT FROM KATYTASTIC on youtube!
1. The Little Mermaid – a character who is out of their element, a “fish out of water”
Oh! Sunny Dae from Super Fake Love Song! I mean the whole story is about him faking that he’s in a band. Clearly he’s out of his element!
2. Cinderella – a character who goes through a major transformation
MiYoung from Wicked Fox! I don’t want to say what kind of transformation or elaborate too much but wow this book was so fun and addicting and the sequel was also AMAZING.
3. Snow White – a book with an eclectic cast of characters
Am I going to say the zumra? Of course I’m going to say the zumra from We Hunt the Flame. But also, I just really love the crew in The Gilded Wolves! Truly two amazing casts of friends!
4. Sleeping Beauty – a book that put you to sleep
Oh gosh… I really didn’t enjoy Sofia Khan is Not Obliged and DNF’ed about halfway through. I just had no idea where the story was going and wasn’t invested sadly.
5. The Lion King – a character who had something traumatic happen to them in childhood
All YA Protagonists to be completely honest. Like I can’t even choose one because every one that involves a quest of some kind has this.
6. Beauty and the Beast – A beast of a book (a big book) that you were intimidated by, but found the story to be beautiful
I’m going to say a book I haven’t read yet but is on my immediate TBR and I think I’m going to enjoy it: The Poppy War.
7. Aladdin – a character who gets their wish granted, for better or worse
I mean how could I not say Nahri e Nahid here? I mean she summoned a djinn. PLEASE.
8. Mulan – a character who pretends to be someone or something they are not
In Star Daughter Sheetal has to pretend to be human even though she’s part star which is GREAT. I’d also like to add Girl, Serpent, Thorn here even though I don’t want to give anything away…
9. Toy Story – a book with characters you wish would come to life
I’m trying not to repeat answers here! The Wrath and the Dawn! I will take no further questions.
10. Disney Descendants – your favorite villain or morally ambiguous character
Vicious by V.E. Schwab! I love Victor Vale so much!

I agree with you on Wicked Fox, and all YA protagonists have something traumatic happen to them. It isn’t a YA story if we don’t start the book with a bang!
